The major clients for this program are participants wishing to gain the skills and knowledge to work in the Aged Care Industry as Assistants in nursing, Care service employees, Personal carers, Support workers, Community care support workers and Disability service officers, primarily in Residential facilities under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined organisation guidelines and service plans.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however participants are required to have or obtain sufficient Language, Literacy, Numeracy skills the physical capacity to work as an Aged Care Worker, have a positive and caring attitude in working with older people, be willing to undertake a National Police Clearance in order participate in un-paid work placement activities for a minimum of 120 hours.
Successful completion of the Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015) can lead to various job pathways such as an Assistant in nursing or personal care worker working in aged care facilities, home and community care organisations, or other health care services.
